Note: This feature is currently only available for Facebook and Google links. This feature may not activate if the reviewer has tracking blockers enabled in their browser.

We will always automatically notify a reviewer when they are already logged into Facebook or Google if those links are present on your landing page. But if you’d like to go a step further and automatically direct the reviewer to one of these two sites, we provide an option that allows you to do just that.

When activated, Smart Auto-Direct will automatically send happy visitors to Facebook or Google if all of the following conditions are met:

  • They are logged into one or both of the sites
  • They are not being masked by a tracking blocker in their browser
  • One or both of the review sites are active review site links on your landing page
  • The visitor indicates that they are happy (if you’re using a segmenting layout. If you’re using a direct link layout, they will simply be redirected as soon as they arrive)

Activating Smart Auto-Direct

Smart Auto-Direct is turned off by default. To turn on Smart Auto-Direct, go to Dashboard > Funnel > Content. The location of the toggle will vary slightly depending on which layout you are using.

Using a segmenting layout

If you’re using a segmenting layout (e.g. thumbs, stars, faces), the toggle will be located under Interaction Design > Happy Customers > Smart Auto-Direct. Check the Use Smart Auto-direct? box to activate the feature.

Using a direct link layout

If you’re using a direct link layout (e.g. big buttons, medium buttons, small buttons), the toggle will be located under Message to All Visitors > More > Smart Auto-Direct. Check the Use Smart Auto-direct? box to activate the feature.

Setting your preferred link

What if you have both Facebook and Google links active on your landing page, and the visitor is logged into both sites? Which will they be directed to?

You can control where they will be directed to in this scenario by re-ordering your links in Dashboard > Funnel > Links > Your Review Site Links. Whichever site appears higher up in the list will be the preferred destination for visitors. Simply change the order of the links to change the preferred destination.

In the example below, Google will be prioritized.
